Twala Coleman, MSW, LCSW

A native of Fayetteville North Carolina, I currently reside with my husband, a U.S Army veteran, and three sons. I earned my graduate degree from Fayetteville State University with a Master of Social Work, concentration in children and families, and undergraduate from Shaw University with a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology.

My treatment experience includes working with military veterans from each branch, adults, teens, children and their families.

I have training and experience in areas such as:

  • Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)

  • Attention Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD)

  • Depression

  • Anxiety

  • Post-Traumatic Stress (PTS)

  • Intellectual/developmental disabilities

In addition, I am skilled at working with a variety of issues facing individuals today, including:

  • Healthy family dynamics

  • Behavior modification

  • Resilience

  • Shame

  • Self-compassion

  • Crisis

  • Suicide intervention/prevention

  • Life skills and other areas

As a therapist, I believe we all have untapped gifts within us always available to access with the right support and adequate resources. Some areas I am specifically passionate about consist of strength-based approaches, attachment theory, boundaries, and mindfulness-based practices.

I believe growth is everlasting and extends over a lifetime. Due to this belief, I have and continue to dedicate my life to increasing my skills as a therapist. I place a value in community engagement to leverage community resources, which allows me to be an effective advocate for the needs of the individuals I serve.

In network with most BlueCross BlueShield (Except BlueHome, BlueLocal, and BlueValue), Optum/United, UMR, Aetna, and Cigna
