Mike Przybowski
LCMHCA
Originally hailing from the great state of New Jersey, but now a proud North Carolinian for 23 years, I am a graduate of UNC-Chapel Hill with a Master’s Degree in Education-School Counseling. I’ve had extensive experience as a Professional School Counselor for over 16 years supporting students through group work, psycho-education, and individual counseling. In addition, I have worked for 4 years as a mental health/medical case manager connecting students and families with care, while ensuring quality educational access. I have extensive knowledge of school system processes and enjoy consulting with families regarding their child’s school experience! I am a husband of 24 years and a father of 2 very busy teenagers!
I currently hold a NC LCMHC-A license and am enthusiastically ready to welcome and support children and teens aged 5-18.
I am also qualified to treat the following mental health conditions:
Anxiety

ADHD
Grief & Loss
Adjustment Disorder
In addition, I am also able to help individuals understand and cope with the following issues:
School Issues & School Avoidance
Stress Management
Conduct or Behavior Problems
Social Anxiety & Social Skills
Parent Coaching - Children & Teens
Emotional Regulation
Suicide Prevention and Intervention
Educational Consultation
Family Relationships
I am passionate about helping children and teens identify the strengths within themselves and support them in overcoming any challenges they face in childhood and adolescence, from the common to the complex. I want to help them unlock and cultivate the gifts of joy, freedom, energy, and creativity that are so important in their young years! I utilize an eclectic approach, built personally around your child, that incorporates Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT), Behavior Modification theories, goal setting, Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and more. One size does not fit all, the relationship is the most important, and we begin where your child is at! In uprooting any stigma around mental health issues, I seek to engage children, teens, and parents in an honest and responsible journey toward successfully achieving their goals!
