I am a Virginia native who grew up in the suburbs of D.C., but North Carolina has been my home since 2009. I have a prior background in veterinary medicine, which led me to counseling as I gained insight into the need for mental health care within the community. I graduated from UNC Chapel Hill with a bachelor’s in psychology, and subsequently completed a graduate certificate in aging & applied thanatology. I have my master’s degree in clinical mental health counseling at UNC Pembroke with a concentration in Play Therapy.  I have completed all my coursework to become a Registered Play Therapist (RPT), I only have clinical hours to fulfill this certification.

I enjoy working with individuals of all ages as well as families. I am also passionate about working with children and helping them develop, process, and grow as individuals through the language of play, especially working through grief, loss/bereavement, and trauma. I am LGBTQ affirming. My approach is integrative, influenced by various theories including cognitive behavioral, Adlerian, and child-parent relationship therapy. It is my goal to create a strong therapeutic relationship built on trust, safety, and a non-judgmental atmosphere to facilitate healing and promote long-term mental health.
