Kaelyn Mora -
Cary
LCSWA
As a New York native, I’ve recently taken the big leap to North Carolina to continue my journey in social work. In 2020, I earned my Bachelors in Social Work from Molloy University (NY), followed by my Masters in Social Work from Fordham University (NY) in 2021. My early experience includes interning with nonprofits supporting the LGBTQ+ community and working in youth gang prevention and intervention, providing group facilitation and one-on-one counseling to children and teens. My work in these roles was centered around empowering individuals in at-risk communities by helping them overcome life’s complexities and fostering an empathetic environment.Â
My professional journey then took me overseas, where I served as a Peace Corps Education Volunteer for two years, where I gained a deeper understanding of diverse cultures and strengthened my commitment to youth and community work. During the Peace Corps, I led a volunteer support committee, offering guidance to peers facing complex challenges during service. Now I am pursuing licensure as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker Associate (LCSWA), with a dedication for advocating families through compassionate, culturally responsive care.Â
I have training and experience in areas such as:
AnxietyÂ
Depression
Life transitions
Trauma and adjustment
School challenges
In addition, I am also able to help individuals and families understand and cope with the following concerns:
Social skills
Family and relationship dynamicsÂ
Grief and loss
Emotion regulationÂ
Self-esteem and identity developmentÂ
Stress managementÂ
My passion derives from my previous experiences, and ultimately my goal is to create a warm, non-judgmental environment where you can genuinely feel supported and understood as you navigate challenges that bring you here. I really value the importance of building a trusting, authentic therapeutic relationship because I believe every client should feel comfortable to explore their experiences openly. My approach is grounded in evidence-based practices, drawing from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Mindfulness. Above all, I’m here to walk alongside you in your healing journey, and I look forward to supporting you and your family in achieving lasting growth!
