Terry Harbolick
LCMHCA, NCC, NCSC
After growing up in New Jersey and residing in Virginia, I have settled in North Carolina. I earned my Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Susquehanna University and a Master of Arts in Counseling with a specialization in School Counseling from Marymount University. I am currently pursuing licensure as a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor Associate (LCMHC-A).
For the past five-plus years, I have served as a school counselor and mental health interventionist, collaborating with families and community agencies to overcome systemic barriers to mental health support. My professional background has emphasized the paramount importance of creating authentic relationships with clients, and providing a safe, open environment is my top priority as a therapist.
Clinical Expertise and Support
In private practice, I focus on counseling adults on an individual basis and providing coaching within family structures. My work primarily focuses on providing psychoeducational skills to alleviate maladaptive behaviors and improve coping mechanisms for daily stressors.

Emotional & Executive Support:Â Emotional regulation, stress management, and executive functioning deficits.
Life Transitions & Skills:Â Communication skills, life transitions, and grief and loss.
Therapeutic Approach
My primary goal is to showcase the innate resilience and grit that every person possesses by building upon their individual strengths. I am dedicated to helping individuals and families overcome obstacles and believe every client deserves equitable access to high-quality mental health care. As an LGBTQ+ affirming provider, I acknowledge how identity intersections impact the therapeutic relationship and work to recognize my own biases to better serve my clients.
My clinical approach is integrative and caters to the specific needs of the individual or family, drawing from several modalities:
