Gabby Vella
LCMHCA, NCC
Originally from New York, I earned my Bachelor of Science in Psychology from the University at Buffalo before moving to Vermont to complete my Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at the University of Vermont. I now live in North Carolina and am working toward full licensure as a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor Associate (LCMHCA).Â
My professional experience includes community mental health, crisis intervention, inpatient psychiatry, and residential care. Working across these settings has deepened my appreciation for the resilience people bring to therapy, even during life's most difficult moments. I strive to create a warm, affirming space where clients feel safe being their authentic selves while working toward meaningful and lasting change.
Areas of Focus
Adolescents & Young Adults: The teen and young adult years often bring questions about identity, relationships, independence, and the future. I strive to create a supportive space where clients feel comfortable exploring challenges, building confidence, and developing skills to navigate life's transitions with greater resilience.
Adults & Older Adults: Life continues to change throughout adulthood. Whether you are adjusting to a new role, coping with grief or loss, managing stress, or navigating relationship challenges, therapy can provide a space for reflection and growth. I work alongside clients to better understand themselves and move toward the life they want to create.
Couples & Marriage: Many relationships experience seasons of change. Whether you are working through conflict, improving communication, or simply wanting to strengthen your relationship, I provide a supportive space where both partners feel heard and understood. Together, we work toward building deeper connection and healthier patterns.
EMDR & Trauma Work: Trauma can have a lasting impact on how we see ourselves and experience the world. I provide trauma-informed care and continue to expand my training in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), an evidence-based approach that supports clients in processing traumatic experiences and moving toward healing.
