Amanda Morris
LCSW, RPT
I received my master’s degree in social work from North Carolina Central University and spent my early career working with children and families within the home, school, and community. I am a Registered Play Therapist and a Registered Sand Therapist. In addition, I am certified in Autplay Therapy, Safe Sound Protocol, Body-Brain Approach to Sandtray Play Therapy, and clinical supervision for North Carolina social workers.
Carl Jung wrote that “the privilege of a lifetime is to become who you truly are.” By approaching psychotherapy with a foundation of trauma-informed and person-affirming modalities, my role is to support my client’s past and present journeys. In collaboration, we create an environment of safety and curiosity where children, families, and individuals are given space to experience self-knowledge, self-acceptance, and self-compassion.
Areas of Focus
Children & Teens: I fit very well with the kiddos who are geeky, nerdy, weird, Emo, quirky, too smart for their own good, ask the Big Questions, have very big feelings, and are “old souls.”
Adults: Many of my adult clients fit into one of two categories of life transition: young adults seeking extra support and self-insight, and high-achieving mothers who are ready to gain new perspectives on old narratives and engage life with more authenticity.
